What is Hyperopia?

Good vision is an integral factor in someone's general quality of life. It can impact daily activities, professional functions, hobbies, and even working out. Hyperopia, often referred to as farsightedness, is among the most frequently treated types of vision impairments. About a fourth of the people in our country are impacted by hyperopia. It is the impaired ability to see objects at less than arm's distance, such as words or photographs. Hobbies like reading and even things like vacuuming can be very difficult. As with nearsightedness, the severity of farsightedness can vary from mild to significant and will often lead to other frustrating discomfort that can impact you daily. Fortunately, we have many possible ways to handle your farsightedness.

At Advanced Vision & Achievement Center, our experienced team can examine you for farsightedness and detail all of your possible treatment methods. Schedule your visit to our Phoenix, AZ practice for a thorough eye exam with medical director Dr. Neha Amin LaCorte or Dr. Mary Hardy, and be one step closer to getting sharper vision.

What are the Symptoms of hyperopia?

Those with hyperopia may not even know it until their close-up vision begins to be hazy. The inability to focus on objects near the eyes is typically the most dominant sign of being farsighted. However, hyperopia that isn’t affecting vision yet or has been left untreated does frequently cause eye fatigue, also known as asthenopia. The consistent strain on the eyes that comes from working on certain tasks, such as studying, typing, or using the computer, can cause headaches, dry and sore eyes, and tension in the upper body. Individuals who currently use corrective lenses for hyperopia but are still having these symptoms should have an eye exam to find out if their prescription needs to be changed.

Hello, I'm very grateful for the care I've received from Dr. Amin and her staff. My vision has improved after a debilitating accident one year ago. Dr. Amin's expertise and guidance have helped me to make better progress than I imaged. It's been a long road to recovery, but I couldn't have done it without the team at Advanced Vision.

After my Moderna COVID booster shot in October of 2021 I'VE been dizzy. The shot over stimulated my inner ear nerve endings and my eyes were knocked out of alignment making me constantly dizzy. After 9 months of many different doctors and test I was sent to Dr Amin and what a Blessing. Dr Amin and her group are very professional and on time. Dr Amin completely answered all questions that we have about my condition and questions about future prognoses. I have been amazed by all the different testing equipment that she and her staff use to tell me my condition. At each visit with testing Dr, Amin up dates me and what is needed to complete my healing. Dr. Amin makes you feel as if I'm her only patient.
