Nothing happens in sports until eyes instruct your hands and body as to what to do. Since approximately eighty percent of the cues for playing most sports are sensed through vision, accurate vision and strong visual skills are paramount. 20/20 acuity means only that an athlete can see clearly at distance. It does not tell an athlete where an object is in space, how fast it is traveling or whether it is changing direction. Visual processing (including depth perception) gives the athlete that critical information.
Today, as in athletic strength conditioning, athletic visual skills can be measured, developed and enhanced through testing and training. At the Advanced Vision and Achievement Center we successfully train both ameteur and professional baseball, basketball, football, tennis players, golfers, race car drivers, trap and skeet shooters and other athletes. Our unique sports vision enhancement program includes a comprehensive evaluation and an individually designed protocol to improve sports vision skills. (Routine eye exams rarely evaluate even ten percent of what a comprehensive sports evaluation does). We measure and successfully improve eye-hand coordination, visual reaction time, peripheral awareness, eye-teaming, focusing, tracking and visualization skills. Don't allow poor or inadequate visual-related skills to lower athletic performance and your true potential.
